There are a number of reasons why Dry Cleaners have switched to GreenEarth:
Some will have switched because of environmental reasons. Perclorethylene (perk), the usual dry cleaning solvent, is a toxic chemical, dangerous to marine life and soil. It does not break down easily unlike GreenEarth which rapidly breaks down to it's constituent parts (sand, water & CO2 )
Some will have switched for health reasons. There have been health scares regarding perclorethylene, it has been suggested that it causes cancer. While this suggestion has not been wholly accepted it does cast a cloud over perk. GreenEarth is a modified version of make up remover so would certainly appear to be much safer. More recently it has been found that exposure to Greenearth can cause cancer in lab rats but there is no evidence that this may apply to humans.
Some will have switched because they believe legislation will come banning perclorethylene, and would like to stay ahead of it. This has already happened in a number of US states for the reasons above.
The above reasons are good reasons to switch from perk, but there is only one reason to switch to GreenEarth® and that is because it works. It cleans just as well if not better than perk. Clothes feel softer and smell fresher having been cleaned in GreenEarth. Greenearth is much less likely to damage trimmings on expensive dresses and blouses. Colour is much less likely to run, which is particularly evident on silks.
At this point I should point you in the direction of the report carried out by Consumer Reports in the USA but regretably this report is no longer available online. However, by clicking on the following link there is a report that backs up much of what has been stated above.
Of course dry cleaners not using GreenEarth will tell you that perk works better.
They would wouldn't they.
The following clip is of a very confident GreenEarth dry cleaner in the US, it is a little on the long side but it is worth sticking with it.
